Black business owner launches a new business in a pandemic

Covid-19 turned everything and everyone on its head. All industries felt the knock and for those in the hospitality space, we had to make lemonade out of lemons to keep afloat in a situation where borders were closed and travel was restricted.

Founder & Curator, Cleo Johnson turned her efforts online and went into the e-commerce space launching Koko Kollection, a conscious lifestyle brand that sells all-natural skincare & health products, hand-poured soy candles, and boho-style clothing.

Every entrepreneur or leader at some point reaches a ‘fork in the road’ moment that ultimately determines where they will end up.

During these uncertain times, this brand kept Nuecleo afloat and was received well by the public and those within her network.

Koko Kollection was featured in the Nov/Dec issues of Glamour and GQ, and recently in Africa Global Gateway Magazine, the brand has the momentum to become a local favourite. Koko Kollection collaborates and works with local designers and artisans to provide ingredients and products.

In 2021 the brand is focusing on healing products for its consumers to aid those who suffer from skin ailments and anxiety. The brand is also in talks about expanding into a health & wellness Spa as well as supply hotels & other accommodations with all-natural amenities.
